According to a report WhatsApp is currently testing out a new feature that will allow users to transcribe voice messages. This feature can be used in certain situations where listening to audio recordings on WhatsApp is not possible.
WhatsApp tests new transcription feature for voice messages
According to a feature tracker a new banner might appear below a voice message asking if they want to get a transcription of the voice message they have sent or received. The feature was spotted in WhatsApp for Android beta app version 2.24.15.5.
If you are in a situation where it is difficult for you to listen to audio recording such as a very busy or a noisy road or a music concert, you don’t need to worry anymore because with this new feature you will be able to get a detailed transcription of the voice messages that has been sent to you. This feature is set to support 5 languages which are as follows: English, Hindi, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
Where is the feature available?
According to the future tracker the voice message transcription option is already available to some of the beta testers who are on the latest version of WhatsApp for Android Beta via the Google Play Store beta program. Therefore there is a high chance that the feature might be available to the users sooner or later.
Other new features on the way
According to a report, WhatsApp is currently testing a feature that would be able to translate messages using the technology of Google for Android devices. This translation feature might use the life translation technology of Google and it works on- device. This means that the data is stored locally instead of being sent to a cloud server. Users can implement this feature to translate messages on the instant messaging platform.
