Google brings new features for Android devices such as RCS Message Editing and Instant Hotspot. On Thursday Google announced seven new Android features for apps such as Meet, Home, Messages and Wear OS. One of the major highlights of this new featured drop for Android devices includes RCS message editing. As per the update, users will have 15 minutes to edit the messages after sending them.

RCS Message Editing

In a blog post, Google announced that the tag giant is bringing a feature that will allow users to edit RCS messages up to 15 minutes after sending them. “With Google Messages you can say goodbye to the *asterisk and edit messages after they’re sent. Tap and hold a sent RCS message to edit typos, add missing words or clarify what you mean — up to 15 minutes after a message is sent.” This feature will be available on Google Messages, the messaging app of the company.

To edit a message, the user needs to tap and hold on a sent RCS message. A new edit icon will be displayed on the top panel clicking on which users will get the option to modify their message as long as it was sent within the last 15 minutes.

Google brings in Instant Hotspot feature

Google also says that it will bring an ‘instant hotspot’ feature soon that will allow users to connect a tablet or a Chromebook to the hotspot of an Android smartphone. The best part is you don’t have to type in the password for this. In the blog post, Google stated “Coming soon, with instant hotspot, you’ll be able to connect your Android tablet or Chromebook to your phone’s hotspot with one tap — without needing to go through the extra step of typing in your password. And if you need to change devices in the middle of a Google Meet call, you’ll be able to tap the Cast icon to seamlessly switch between your connected devices so you can move between your Android phone, tablet or web browser.”
