Microsoft intends to discontinue support for the WordPad, Tips, and Cortana virtual assistants in the most recent version of Windows 11. Early in October, the Windows maker revealed in a beta build for Insiders that the standalone Cortana app would no longer be available in Windows 11.
Please be aware that after updating to Windows 11, version 24H2, Cortana, Tips, and WordPad are no longer available. In a blog post, the Windows Insider Program stated that these applications were deprecated.
WordPad has been a part of Windows for 28 years, having been installed automatically since 1995. It has also been accessible as an optional feature since Windows 10 was released. In 2015, Cortana was released for Windows users as a part of a Windows 10 update.
Microsoft announced that it is “evolving the Copilot experience on Windows as an app that will be pinned to the taskbar” in addition to removing the WordPad and Cortana apps.
Over time, Microsoft has taken several apps out of Windows and put them up for download through the Microsoft Store. The traditional Windows Paint application was retired by the firm five years ago, but it was later resurrected and made accessible for download on the official shop.
Just two years after it was made available to Microsoft 365 users, Microsoft declared earlier in November that it will be discontinuing the Defender Application Guard for Office and the Windows Security Isolation APIs.
