In India, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset will soon be released.
The SoC, which was unveiled in March of this year, is intended to power high-end smartphones. It is positioned one performance core behind the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. Poco declared that it will be one of the first companies in India to release smartphones with the newest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 platform.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset is what Poco’s country head, Himanshu Tandon, stated will power the company’s Poco F6, which is slated to ship later this month.
“The Poco F series has been pushing the limits of what’s possible in a mid-range phone and has become synonymous with performance and innovation.
Carrying on this tradition, Tandon stated that the POCO F6 is poised to revolutionize the industry as the first smartphone in India to sport the potent Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU.
Qualcomm stated during the announcement event that OEMs like Honor, iQoo, Realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi will use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
Features of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen3 chipset
This top-tier platform has breakthrough connection, lossless high-definition music, an always-sensing ISP, support for on-device generative Al features, and hyper-realistic mobile gaming. Many Al models, including well-known large language models (LLM) like Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, and Gemini Nano, are supported by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
In comparison to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which is the newest processor and operates at a lower frequency, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is equipped with one fewer performance core. The 4nm octa-core chipset includes three ‘efficiency’ cores clocked at 2.0GHz, four ‘performance’ cores with a peak clock speed of 2.8GHz, and a Prime core (Cortex-X4) rated at 3.0GHz.
