WhatsApp introduces three chat filtersAll, Unread, Groups. These filters will help the users to sort through conversations faster.

In the last few days WhatsApp has introduced a number of features so that they can use the app while safeguarding their privacy. May it be rolling out the Meta AI chatbot to allowing the users to book bus tickets through WhatsApp, several features have been launched within the last few days.

WhatsApp introduces chat filters

Filters have been used in a number of applications for getting tasks done in a way that is easier and faster. Just like filters in LinkedIn and Myntra help us for personalising search results, WhatsApp filters will help you quickly find the right chats.

“As people increasingly do more on WhatsApp, it’s more important than ever before to be able to get to your messages fast. That’s why today we’re launching new Chat Filters so you can do that without having to scroll through your full inbox,” WhatsApp said in a press release.

How do the chat filters work?

WhatsApp introduces three chat filters- All Unread, Groups. The All filter gives you a default view of the chats- just the way they actually appear without any filters being applied. The Unread filter shows you the chats that are yet to be read – the texts to which you haven’t replied to yet. The Groups filter will display all the group chats you are a part of.

The feature has already started rolling out and will be available to all WhatsApp users gradually, in the coming weeks. According to WhatsApp, the chat filters will “make it easier for people to stay organised and find their most important conversations and help navigate through messages more efficiently.”
