More about Microsoft Build 2024 and the new AI features for Windows
Microsoft, the software giant, are now the centre of attraction with them being all set to take the stage at the annual Microsoft Build conference next month. The session agenda that was recently released indicate that artificial intelligence (AI) will be the showstopper as the company will unveil a suite of AI tools. These tools will be primarily meant for Windows PCs and Azure cloud services.
Mustafa Suleyman, Microsoft’s newly minted vice president of AI will lead the AI charge at Microsoft Build 2024. Mustafa Suleyman joined the company last month, after co-founding DeepMind- the popular AI research company that Google acquired in 2014. The keynote stage will be shared by Suleyman with Nadella and other longtime Microsoft executives for laying down the AI vision of Microsoft.
One of the most significant announcements for Windows users will be the AI- powered enhancements brought upon the open- source PowerToys suite. A feature called “Advanced Paste” will also be included and this will leverage on – device AI models for facilitating innovative text reformatting. Along with these features, Microsoft will also tease AI capabilities which will establish “deeper interaction with your digital life” within Windows apps themselves.
On the other hand, Azure developers are expecting updates to the AI safety tools of Microsoft. These updates might help in the process of mitigating risks such as explicit content generation. Microsoft’s support for running AI inferencing on Arm-based NPUs will probably be the biggest Azure AI news. With this, energy-efficient AI processing will be made possible on Windows- on Arm PCs as well as Azure cloud instances.
