NASA launches a gaming application called “Snap It” for children above 7 years of age to learn about total solar eclipse. ‘Snap It’ aims to take pictures of eclipses and celestial bodies that travel in front of the Sun.

More about ‘Snap It’ and where you can find it

NASA’s innovative and interesting game- ‘Snap It’ lets children learn about eclipses and what causes them. This is because it is important for them to become aware of these natural phenomena. The game aims to capture photographs of eclipses and objects traveling in front of the Sun. You can find the same on the official website of NASA. Apparently, the website doesn’t work on smartphones but you can access it through your laptop or on your desktop.

Snap It- How to play the game

The game comes with controls and navigating features that are quite easy and simple. Using the trackpad of your laptop, you can zoom in and zoom out. Besides, you can also use the mouse scroll wheel or click the W or S button of the keyboard to zoom in and zoom out. If you want to get a different view of the Sun, press A or D. By pressing the spacebar, you can capture a photo. You will be taken to a new screen when the timer runs out or once you have already captured 30 pictures. The game will automatically categorize all your images based on the object captured in front of the Sun and you will be able to review them.

You will be allowed to share up to four images in total and with this, you can create a postcard. Once a postcard is created, Snap It will allow you to decorate the newly generated postcard by adding stickers and text on the postcard. You can then download this beautiful postcard on your device and share it with your friends and family.
