Samsung is introducing a new feature that will make life simpler for Galaxy smartphone users. Previously, only owners of the Galaxy S24 series were able to record voice calls in VoWiFi (Voice over WiFi) mode. However, this feature will soon be available on older models as well. Until now, recording calls in VoWiFi mode was difficult for other Samsung users as it required them to turn off VoWiFi or use third-party apps.
Samsung’s method of call recording is different from that of Google Dialer as it does not announce call recording. When enabled, it becomes automatic. The feature is accessible on Galaxy smartphones using the latest dialer app (version 15.1.66 or newer) and covers VoLTE (4G) and VoNR (5G) calls.
Currently, phones with OneUI 6 or older versions display a pop-up message stating that WiFi calls cannot be recorded on Samsung devices. The recording capability is only available on three smartphones at the moment, but users can activate VoWiFi calling from the quick setting panel, enabling both audio and video calls through the Samsung dialer app.
VoWiFi can significantly improve audio quality, especially in indoor areas or spots with patchy cellular network coverage, and it helps avoid call disconnections due to network problems.
For Samsung Galaxy users, automating call recording is now an option, saving both incoming and outgoing calls on the device. Each recorded call typically consumes a small amount of storage, ensuring it doesn’t take up too much space on the phone.
