The company has not yet made any announcement on this matter, but its boss Elon Musk has hinted at it. Talking to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Musk said that he was considering charging “a small monthly payment” to all users. Explaining the reason, he said it would be a part of the effort to “combat vast armies of bots” proliferating on the website.

Musk mulls ‘lower-tier pricing’

He also said that X will charge a “lower-tier pricing” than the existing cost for current X premium subscribers. But he did not say what the pricing could be. The Tesla chief said that he wants it to be a small amount of money. He further said that it is the only defense against the “vast armies of bots”.
