Google has now added the AI-powered “Help me write” function to Gmail, following Smart Reply and Smart Compose. It can help you write professional emails quickly, compose replies that take the entire discussion into account, and plenty more. Essentially, Gmail’s AI email writer function automates the time-consuming operation of replying to emails. Let’s figure out how to use this functionality to make email composition a bit less frightening.
1. Sign up for Google Workspace, by clicking here.
2. Following that, one will receive an email confirming access to Duet AI for Google Workspace. They can also access Gmail (visit) directly to see if the functionality is available to them.
3. Now, select “Compose” to begin composing an email.
4. In Gmail’s bottom menu, look for the “Help me write” button. Clicking on it will bring up Gmail’s AI email writer bar.
5. After that, select “Help me write” and add your own text prompt. For example, one may instruct it to send an email requesting a refund or to transform the chat into points for a meeting or a leave application, among other things.
6. Users may utilize choices such as formalize, elaborate, and shorten to modify their email responses.
7. The AI email writer’s answer can likewise be recreated.
8. Once the draft is complete, simply click “Insert” to have the text put into the message body.
9. Finally, input the recipient’s email address and click “Send” to send the email.
