Amazon’s Paper Girls series messes with the timeline in first trailer. Amazon has chosen to unveil the first trailer for its forthcoming Paper Girls series, in case a new season of Stranger Things wasn’t enough sci-fi set in the 1980s for you. The teaser is extremely brief, but it features a highly pink colour scheme and some of the time-traveling hijinks that fans may anticipate.
Beginning as a 30-issue comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan and Cliff Chiang, Paper Girls follows four newspaper delivery girls who become embroiled in a protracted conflict between several time-traveling factions. Before turning in its own route to become highly bizarre and intriguing, it features many of the iconic aspects of ’80s adventure films, such as kids riding bikes all over the city. The four main heroines in the series are played by Sofia Rosinsky, Camryn Jones, Riley Lai Nelet, and Fina Strazza; Ali Wong has been cast as Erin Tieng’s elder self. According to Amazon, the show’s premise is as follows: Four teenage friends unwittingly enter a violent time war on the day after Halloween in 1988, and they mysteriously go to the year 2019. Each girl learns about her own abilities as they work together to find a way back to the past while protecting the planet of the future when they come face to face with their adult selves.
The studio gave a very quick preview of the primary characters before to the trailer’s release, despite the fact that things have been rather quiet since Amazon acquired the rights to the programme in 2019. On July 29, Paper Girls will begin streaming, giving you plenty of time to read the novels first, which you should do without a doubt.
