Samsung announced many smart home-related announcements at its second annual Bespoke Home event. Samsung TV Plus, the company’s free ad-supported live TV service, will be included in the latest update for Family Hub refrigerators.  The refrigerators with built-in tablets will be able to broadcast live TV programs, but the service will initially be available exclusively in the United States and South Korea.

Other announcements include the launch of a new update for refrigerators that run on Family Hub 2.0, which includes models from 2017 and later.  Users of Samsung’s smart refrigerators can already watch television on the built-in touchscreen by mirroring material from a Samsung smart TV or a Samsung phone, but the enormous screen was quickly becoming outdated without these devices.

The built-in screen on Family Hub refrigerators can also be used as a speaker, and commands can be given to Amazon Alexa and Samsung’s Bixby voice assistants. However, if the machine is linked to a Wi-Fi network, these voice assistants should be able to launch Samsung TV Plus right on that screen with live TV integration. Samsung TV Plus is the company’s live TV service, with over 200 stations to choose from, and they’re all randomized with limited catalogue.

Apart from the ability to stream live TV, it is also adding an art mode to the Family Hub refrigerators. Users of the Family Hub will be able to transform the screen of their refrigerators into a beautiful work of art. This will be made possible via an app called Art Gallery, which contains a variety of designs and arts based on many aspects.

Samsung also helps you choose the correct art for your room, but it does it by using the camera on your Samsung phone or tablet to recognize the area around your refrigerator. You can also personalize the look of your refrigerator. Samsung has announced that its Art Gallery service for Family Hub refrigerator users would be free.
