HackerRank, a technology hiring platform has given its employees a 9-day-long recharge break and during this time, employees will not be required to answer work-related calls or texts. A LinkedIn user shared the news on the job-search platform.
More and more companies are realising the importance of short breaks for employees and the effect it can have on their overall productivity. Various studies on the internet talk about the benefits of taking a day off to recharge. And what could be better than your company asking you to take not one, but 9 full days off from work in order to recharge. A tech company did just that and is being praised of the internet for this move. Kudos to the management team for thinking of employees’ comfort in times when major companies are conducting large-scale layoffs to cut down on costs.
Tech company gives 9-days off to employees
The company we are talking about is called HackerRank and it is a tech hiring platform based in California.
Their LinkedIn bio introduces them as, “HackerRank is a technology hiring platform that is the standard for assessing developer skills for over 3,000 companies around the world. HackerRank helps companies hire skilled developers and innovate faster by enabling tech recruiters and hiring managers to objectively evaluate talent at every stage of the recruiting process.”
The company is on a company-wide off from July 1 till July 9 and says that the break is to help employees relax and recharge. Any work-related calls and emails will be replied to by the employees only after July 9.
A LinkedIn user shared the screenshot of a mail from the company, informing its customers of the same.
“We all have been seeing a lot in recent times about hectic work life balance, employee making up reasons to get leave or go on vacation. This thing by HackerRank is great and should be appreciated for considering the well being of all employees and offering company wide Time off. #kudos to the management for taking such bold decision,” the LinkedIn user wrote.
